Client call notes

The team liked the new timeline. Send Maya the revised quote by Thursday. She needs it before her board meeting.

The app screens still need work. Book a design review with the mobile team.

Ask finance to confirm the new budget. Everything else stays as planned.

Select any text here, then press

This demo runs on this page. Nothing goes to Asana.

Stop losing tasks in open tabs

Every to-do you find on a page costs you a trip to another tab.

The usual way

  1. Copy the text
  2. Find your Asana tab
  3. Open the right project
  4. Add a task and paste the text
  5. Set the date and tags
  6. Go back and copy the link
  7. Paste the link into the task
  8. Find your place again

With Quick Task

  1. Select the text
  2. Press the shortcut
  3. Press Enter

The task is in your project with the page link attached, and you are still on your page.

Everything a quick task needs

Finish the task here, so you don't have to open Asana to fix it later.

Selected text comes first

Your selection becomes the task name. Long text uses its first sentence, and the full text goes in the description.

Projects and fields

Pick or create a project, section, or tag, add more projects, and fill in custom fields.

Due date, tags, assignee

Set them in the popup. Search your people by name and see your tags in color.

Page link, your way

Each task keeps its source link. Turn this off, or start with a blank task, in settings.

Images and screenshots

Right-click images, paste them, or add screenshots. Up to 6 images go inside the description.

Gmail and drafts

Open an email to fill the task with its subject and body. Unsent drafts stay safe.

Your open tasks

See your tasks in the popup and complete them without opening another tab.

Real Asana tasks

Tasks go through Asana's public API into your workspace, like any task you add by hand.

Questions

Is this made by Asana?

No. Quick Task for Asana is an independent product by Ravish Kumar. It is not made by or affiliated with Asana, Inc. It connects to your Asana account through Asana's public API.

How do I get the extension after I pay?

Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store first. After you pay, Dodo Payments sends a license key to your email. Paste it into the extension settings to unlock unlimited tasks.

What do I need to set it up?

Chrome 127 or later, or another Chromium browser such as Brave, and an Asana account. A setup page opens after you install. You create an Asana personal access token once and paste it there.

What goes in the title and description?

Selected text becomes the title. If it is long, the title is its first sentence or line, and the full text goes in the description with the page link. If nothing is selected, the title is the page title. You can edit everything before you save, or change this in settings.

Does it work on every page?

It works on most pages. Some apps, such as Google Docs, draw text in a way the extension cannot read. In these apps, the page title becomes the task name, and you can edit it before you save.

Does anyone else see my tasks or my token?

No. Your task details and token go straight from your browser to Asana. The developer never receives them. The token is encrypted in your browser, and you can revoke it in Asana at any time.

Can I use my license on more than one device?

Yes. One license is for one person, on up to 2 browsers. You can remove it from a browser in settings to free a slot. Please don't share your key with other people.

What if something breaks?

Email ravishxt@gmail.com. A real person replies within 2 business days.
